Burgers’ Zoo in Netherlands
Burgers’ Zoo is one of the largest zoos in the Netherlands. It is located in the city of Arnhem in the eastern part of the Netherlands. Burgers’ zoo has more than 3000 animals living in an area of 18 hectares worth of land.
In addition to the zoo (Burgers’ Dierenpark), one can visit a safari park (Burgers’ Safari), a tropical rainforest (Burgers’ Bush), seawater aquariums (Burgers’ Rimba) and much more. The areas have been designed to resemble the natural habitat of the animals that are located in each particular area. These are called eco-displays.
Burgers’ zoo also has a playground for children, as well as restaurants. The restaurants each have its own theme: tropical kitchen, Texan-Mexican kitchen, Dutch kitchen, African kitchen, and coffee and pastries. There are also many snack shops. One thing that the visitor may want to keep in mind is that cash is the only form of payment that is accepted within the zoo premises.
