Vigeland Sculpture Park in Oslo, Norway
Northwest from the Oslo city centre, in Frogner Park, one can visit the Vigeland Sculpture Park. It contains 212 full-size sculptures and 600 figures designed by Gustav Vigeland.
They were designed by Vigeland out of clay, whereas the actual forming of the sculptures made of bronze and granite was done by a individual talented craftsmen that were contracted for the job. Vigeland also designed the structure and the scenery of the park.
Many of the scultures are set in interesting positions, which can be seen as illustrating various aspects of the cycle of human life, both the positive and the negative, as well as the humorous. A bridge that is 100 meters long and 15 meters wide is used to cross over the waters of the park.
